Delavan (August 12, 2014) – This week’s new episode of SportingDog Adventures is an “instant classic” with a fast action pheasant hunt in the dead of winter in South Dakota.

The good folks at Shallow Creek Farm in Wessington, South Dakota, show the SportingDog Crew the way pheasant hunting was meant to be: dozens of roosters, a variety of cover, and cold temps with snow crunching underfoot. “This was one of the more exciting pheasant hunts we’ve been on,” says Jeff Fuller, Host and Executive Producer of SportingDog Adventures. “We had no worries about making our limit, we actually didn’t have enough hunters at times!”

The SportingDog Crew was challenged to keep up with the fast action of the roosters, who pulled out all the stops and made some interesting moves to avoid being taken. Jeff’s three sons, father Orville, and buddy Bill Jones have to pick up the pace –and get creative – to take these birds. Lots of flushing action and some great retrieves (some of the two-legged type) highlight an episode full of traditional upland fun.
