Soggy Acres Retrievers

JEFF SAYS:

Soggy Acres Retrievers

Whether you want a field champion or someone to hold down the couch, a Soggy Dog has the genetics to excel at either. I breed our Labradors to have high drive in the field and to have pleasing, family friendly personalities for the home. No one who visits us can believe we have at least four in the house at any point in time! And anyone who has hunted with one admires their steadiness and high energy. Thank the dogs for inspiring the show!

KATE SAYS:

Soggy Acres Retrievers

Jeff knows how to breed and train great dogs, and he certainly used that to his advantage in dating! Who could pass on his profile featuring adorable lab puppies?! He’d like to tell you that it was his charming face and personality that won me over, but it was more like Miss Dixie Belle begging for a tummy rub and Lucy jumping in the air “singing!” I was raised with small breed dogs, but once you’ve had a Soggy Dog, you’ll never look back.

Hevi-Shot

JEFF SAYS:

Hevi-Shot

Every hunt we go on, as we get set up in our blinds and the ammo gets passed around, someone invariably says, “Oh, you guys have the good stuff!” (One of these times, we should have the cameras rolling so you could hear it for yourself.) We travel for weeks on end filming for the show, and the Hevi-Shot slogan is so true: we didn’t come this far to miss!

KATE SAYS:

Hevi-Shot

Maybe I’m a stereotype, but when I hunt, I want my hunt to be as humane and environmentally responsible as possible. Hunting with Hevi-Shot gives me both. Hevi-Shot products are non-toxic and safe to use on public and private lands. Plus, with all the research they’ve performed on pattern density and energy, they’ve created products that create the greatest likelihood of a “clean” kill.

Liberty Safe

JEFF SAYS:

Liberty Safe

Liberty Safe hardly needs an introduction. Everyone knows that they are the #1 seller of residential safes in the U.S. and that they are made right here, in Payson, Utah. I have two Liberty Safes, plus their new Ammo Can, which allows me to store up to 125 pounds of ammo separately from my firearms. We live in a rural area and have three young boys, so keeping my firearms under separate lock and key from my ammo was important to me. It was great that Liberty responded to that need from their consumers.

KATE SAYS:

Liberty Safe

I may not need to store 125 pounds of ammo at once (geez Jeff!), but I do want to keep my firearms and other valuables safe, both from outsiders and from our own curious boys. I liked Liberty’s addition of the SafElert product, which can text or email us if there has been a change in temperature or humidity inside the safe, or if it has been moved. The kids love the Liberty Safe website for watching the incredible videos of safes surviving F5 tornadoes and being dropped from several stories up!

Pheasants Forever

JEFF SAYS:

Pheasants Forever

Conservation has become a huge buzz word in the outdoor industry. While I’ve always supported conservation and had my preferred non-profits, I think once I had sons of my own, the real message of conservation started to hit home. The good folks at Pheasants Forever/ Quail Forever are an incredibly active group in raising both funds and awareness for pheasant conservation and habitat management. I want to lend my support to their organization so that my boys will have the same hunting opportunities in 25 years that I have now.

KATE SAYS:

Pheasants Forever

Pheasants Forever has embraced our family and our show and we have embraced their mission. The staff at the national level had faith in what we were doing from the very beginning, and encouraged us and connected us with great places to hunt, great conservation ideas, and great times at the annual shows! We even had pheasants at our wedding (both live ones and on the plate)!

Conquest Scent Sticks

JEFF SAYS:

Conquest Scent Sticks

I’ve been using ConQuest Scents for years. For dog training, their long-lasting wax-based scented sticks are a must have. They make a scent stick in just about every kind of quarry imaginable, so whether I’m training for waterfowl or upland, they have what I need. I also love using the deer scent sticks for shed hunt training!

KATE SAYS:

Conquest Scent Sticks

I love food plotting, and it’s all about making a cozy habitat for the deer that makes them want to stay. In addition to making sure we have an adequate food supply that will last through the seasons, we like to use the various ConQuest Ever Calm Scents to not only cover the scents of the humans and dogs, but to create an assuring, calming environment for the deer to bed. This has to be the simplest way to give yourself a great deer hunting advantage!

Haydel's Game Calls

JEFF SAYS:

Haydel’s Game Calls

Haydel’s pioneered the call that blows wet, and everyone else followed. I stick with the original: Haydel’s has the most years of engineering and experience behind their waterfowl calls and I can’t afford to rely on anything else. I travel hundreds, even thousands of miles, to capture hunts on film for the show so I can’t use anything but a call that’s always going to perform at its best.

KATE SAYS:

Haydel’s Game Calls

Our family hunts a large variety of game, from deer and turkey, to teal, snow geese, grouse, you name it. Haydel’s has a call for everything, and you don’t need to take a master’s class to be able to produce a good sound, even if you’re new to calling like I am. I can also stock up on every call I need for myself and my kids, because their calls are marketed at an affordable pricepoint.

Kansas Dept. of Wildife, Parks, and Tourism

JEFF SAYS:

Kansas Dept. of WPT

These guys are serious about getting your attention about the great upland and waterfowl hunting they have! Just about everyone knows Kansas as a great place for deer and turkey, but most don’t know that the terrain there varies so much from border to border, that the state also provides great cover for pheasant, quail, prairie chicken, teal, doves, and more.

KATE SAYS:

Kansas Dept. of WPT

I’m enjoying having a chance to explore a different area of the country, while simultaneously refining my upland and waterfowl skills. It’s good for me as a hunter to experience new terrain. And it’s good for our dogs too! It keeps things interesting for us, and certainly for our viewers too.
