Delavan (August 12, 2015) – This week’s new episode of SportingDog Adventures features a waterfowl hunt in eastern Kansas. Yes, waterfowling in Kansas, folks!
“People have long associated Kansas with great big game hunting,” says Jeff Fuller, Host and Executive Producer of SportingDog Adventures. “But what they don’t often know, is that due to the incredibly varied terrain across the state, there is also great upland, waterfowl, furbearing, and turkey hunting.”
Along with varied terrain, come varied weather conditions, which effectively laid siege to the crew’s plans. The night before the first hunt, a major weather system moved in, dropping temps and 4” inches of snow. “Needless to say, we scrapped the plans made during scouting, and went on the chase to find where the birds wanted to be instead,” says Fuller.
Once the ducks are located, the gun barrels heat up and the Soggy Acres dogs get to stretch their legs on some great retrieves. “Kansas has never disappointed us,” says Fuller. “It’s like hunting four states in one; you’re almost guaranteed to come away with something.”
